Welcome to a Martial Arts School Like No Other

What should you look for when considering martial arts training for yourself or a child? We believe that our program fits most demographics. If you’re looking for an MMA program, we would refer you to another school.

After 25 years of research, training internationally, competing internationally, and developing multiple strands of study, we are prepared to address all of your needs. It is important to choose a school based on its reputation and the fact that the teachers are still students themselves!

Many beginning adult students say that they want to exercise, conditioning, strength training, flexibility, and self-defense. For their children, they are seeking an activity that will foster focus, self-control, confidence, physical conditioning, self-defense, and fun!

What all students come to realize is that it is so much more!

What is

Mark Warner's Professional Martial Arts Academy?

By offering kung fu, kali, silat, Tai Chi, and kickboxing there is something for everyone as far as curriculum. The social, emotional, and intellectual benefits are realized as training progresses. Having belt-ranked programs allows the student to see progress, identify goals, and share their journey with others.

We are a full-time school which means we have classes all day, six days a week. On Saturday afternoons we offer birthday parties, and seminars bringing in other martial artists from near and far, (Philippines, China, etc.) Many Sundays we have classes in Kali, hold tournaments, participate in outside tournaments, and have more seminars!

Once your training has begun you may wish to join a Demonstration Team. We have a Junior and Senior Team who perform at our graduations (every five weeks) and also travel to events to perform. If competing is your jam, we have a tournament team.

Our students range in age from 3 to 93 years old at this writing. Our classes are structured with similar ages training together. The Dragons are 3 to 6 years old. The juniors (7 to 11) are not only divided by age but also by rank. (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

Our school is a family-orientated, friendly, caring place where the focus is on sharing martial arts but more importantly, or perhaps concurrently, supporting people and the community.
~ Tashi Deb

The teens have 8 classes per week devoted to them. Adults get the jackpot with at least 12 classes per week to choose from. Each group has a minimum of 3 classes available per week. Tai Chi is offered 2 mornings per week.

The tuition is all-inclusive with no membership fee, no charge for tests or belts, and is paid monthly. There are several choices on our tuition “menu” to suit everyone’s budget. We give 30 percent off the second family member and a family cap for 3 or more! We have some families with 4 or 5 members which works out to half price!

Our philosophy has always been the student comes first. Give us 5% and we will cover the 95%. It is our responsibility to teach each student based on his/her strengths to help them achieve success! An understanding of how people learn and how best to use all modalities is inherent in our teaching.

Another focus is community involvement. We are also involved in such groups as school councils, veteran’s affairs, and Rotary, doing fundraisers and our black belt candidates must do a community service project.

Our staff brings knowledge, experience, and passion to our classes:

  • Tashi Mark Warner began training in 1974 and travels the world seeking knowledge.

  • Tashi Deb Mahoney started her training in 1988 and also brings 37 years of public school teaching experience to the plate. She was inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame in 1999.

  • Tashi Tim Caves teaches at the Newburyport High School and is our martial arts technician, bringing precision of techniques to the classes he teaches.
